FALL 2019 Calendar

Rehearsals

All rehearsals take place in VAPA 5156 unless otherwise announced. The success of the ensemble as well as your ability to perform your part depends on your private practice regimen and your punctual attendance at all rehearsals. Every time a musician is absent or late to a rehearsal, the whole ensemble suffers. With this in mind, the following guidelines will be strictly adhered too: One unexcused absence from a rehearsal will lower your grade by 10 points.

IMPORTANT: In order to be excused, the director must be notified in advance of any unscheduled rehearsal absence and your music must be available to the rest of the ensemble. I will do everything within my power to be prepared and make sure the rehearsals are educational and efficient. I will expect you to do the same.

Performance Rehearsals

All performance rehearsals take place in the theatre in preparation for a performance and are considered performances for grading purposes. They are typically the last scheduled rehearsal before the concert. A schedule of all mandatory performance rehearsals are listed below. Punctual attendance and participation at all performance rehearsals are mandatory. Performances rehearsals can not be made up, which means you will not be allowed to participate in the concert performance as well and you cannot pass the class if you miss a performance or performance rehearsal. An unexcused tardy at a performance rehersal will lower your grade 10 points. Every time a musician is absent or late to a performance, the whole ensemble suffers.
